Lara Windett, M.A., MFT Earns Approved Supervisor Designation from The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals Foundation
San Jose, CA; 9/4/2013 – Lara Windett recently earned the Approved Supervisor designation from the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) Foundation. An Approved Supervisor is defined as a professional with a minimum of five (5) years of experience treating persons with eating disorders; no fewer than 6,000 hours of approved work experience in the treatment and diagnosis of eating disorders; and holds the appropriate state licensure, certification, or registration qualifications.
Windett joins an elite group of professionals committed to excellence in the treatment of eating disorders who desire to mentor, educate and encourage other clinicians in this field who are seeking iaedp’s Traditional Certification. Professionals pursuing the CEDS, CEDRD, CEDCAT or CEDRN designation are required to be supervised by a qualified professional who has received approval from iaedp™’s Certification Committee. “Since iaedp™ has designed its Traditional certification program to ensure its certified members can demonstrate expertise through a range of professional activities, achievements, and supervised activities, requirements for supervision are designed to be in line with these same competencies,” says Tammy Beasley, Director of the iaedp Foundation Certification Committee.
Windett currently works in private practice. This designation allows Windett to offer eating disorder clinicians who are seeking the iaedp Traditional Certification the assurance and confidence that the highest standards of supervision will be provided throughout all stages of treatment.
Established in 1985, iaedp (http://www.iaedp.com) provides educational programs and training standards for eating disorder specialists and other medical professionals caring for those suffering from the full spectrum of disordered eating. The group offers the most widely respected certification process for specializing in eating disorder treatment.
